Unlike the Bloody Harvest event that many would agree went on too long, Borderlands 3’s Broken Hearts Day event only lasts a week. And now that the holiday is behind us and many have already forgotten the roses and sweet nothings of Valentine’s Day, so too is the event coming to an end soon.
Despite its brevity, though, this Borderlands 3 event has plenty for players to do, and there’s one ultimate goal everyone should have: getting a Wedding Invitation Sniper Rifle with a God Roll anointment. Here’s everything players need to do before this event comes to an end.
Borderlands 3 Broken Hearts Day Event End Date
Obviously, when managing what remains on this content, player should be aware that the Borderlands 3 Broken Hearts Day event will come to an end on Thursday, February 20. Players will want to finish the event up and enjoy the chaos of breaking hearts by breaking 100 hearts. This comes with a few Valentine’s Day-related items, a unique SMG, and, as aforementioned, a legendary elemental Jakobs Sniper Rifle called the Wedding Invitation. It’s no stretch of the imagination to call this the best Borderlands 3 Sniper Rifle currently, as its effect is genius, its damage is incredibly high, and it is a Mayhem Mode 4 monster.
Here’s the catch, though: players can only get one of them. Borderlands 3 has confirmed that the Wedding Invitation will not be available through other methods once this event ends, so it is imperative that players who want an OP sniper rifle until it is inevitably nerfed do so ASAP. Many Borderlands 3 players may not just want Wedding Invitation, though; they may want a God Roll Wedding Invitation.
Get God Roll Anointments on Borderlands 3’s Wedding Invitation
Borderlands 3 players can unfortunately only get one Wedding Invitation per character, but there are a few workarounds that players can do to get the perfect roll. There’s no getting multiple, but players can back up files to the point before and get a second chance at getting a Wedding Invitation with a God Roll. It’s also worth mentioning that the lack of a BL3 anointment, or a God Roll that doesn’t fit the character who gets it, doesn’t immediately invalidate the weapon; these only make it better.
PC players - Simply copy a save prior to opening the Wedding Invitation.
PS4 players - Back up a save to the cloud or to a USB drive before claiming it.
General approach: The Wedding Invitation always drops at level 53, regardless of player level. Ergo, players can create multiple level 1 profiles and rush through this event to get a Wedding Invitation. It is the most grindy option, but it is a better alternative than resigning to the RNG gods.
Pro Move: Grind to the New Borderlands 3 Level Cap
This isn’t truly necessary to complete prior to the end of the Broken Hearts Day event, but if players are going to want to use that beautiful level 53 Wedding Invitation, then they’ll need to hit the new Borderlands 3 level cap. Doing so will help players re-farm the rest of their gear as well, as aforementioned, the Wedding Invitation finds itself at home destroying enemies in Mayhem Mode 4. Just be sure to get that far prior to the event of the event.
