BlizzCon 2019 starts in just over a week and fans are expecting Blizzard to roll out several major announcements. Leaks and speculation are already pointing towards a major Diablo announcement, or even two. World of Warcraft fans think the future of the MMO will be unveiled. And Overwatch is primed for a major step forward as well. Fans are expecting a lot, but few could have predicted that Blizzard would have as many a six big mystery announcements planned for BlizzCon 2019.

The news stems from Blizzard unveiling the planned schedule for BlizzCon 2019, where six different panels have been had their details kept secret ahead of the event. Each of the panels runs 45 minutes long and bears the titled “Coming Soon!” Each of these panels is also featured as part of Blizzard’s Mythic Stage, the convention’s most prominent stage, indicating that Blizzard believes they’ll be something its fans want to watch.

There are hints about what two of the panels are in the schedule. The first four mystery panels will all follow the BlizzCon 2019 opening ceremony. The final two, however, are divided and will run after other game-focused panels. The first mystery panel follows the “World of Warcraft Update” panel and the second follows both the “Overwatch Update” and “World of Warcraft: Q&A.” This is perhaps indicative that these panels will be for World of Warcraft and Overwatch-related news. They could also be for smaller announcements that didn’t fit into day one’s panels, though, too.

Speculation is already running rampant about what Blizzard will be showing. The most likely announcement is a World of Warcraft expansion. Rumors point to a Shadowlands theme, but nothing reliable has been revealed. Diablo 4 and Diablo 2 Remastered are two popular rumors with a surprising amount of evidence to back them. Overwatch 2, or some type of Overwatch sequel with co-op multiplayer, has also been rumored. And then there are games like Warcraft 3 Reforged and Diablo Immortal that could get have announcements forthcoming. That could be Blizzard’s six reveals, but odds are there’s a surprise or two that remains in secret.

Exactly what Blizzard is planning for BlizzCon 2019 remains a complete mystery. The 6 mystery panels could be for entirely different games or announcements unrelated to the rumors and speculation of recent weeks. But, needless to say, whatever Blizzard has planned for BlizzCon 2019 it’s likely to be a very big event. By all accounts, both Blizzard and its fans were underwhelmed with BlizzCon 2018. 2019 should be a much more hype event.

BlizzCon 2019 begins on November 1 with its Opening Ceremony at 10:00 am PDT. The convention will last through November 2.
