BioWare’s Chad Robertson has addressed the concerns regarding the weekend’s Anthem VIP demo and has promised fixes, following the server issues experienced during the launch.

Players were frustrated by infinite load screens and EA was made to expand servers shortly after the demo went live. Per reports, most of the issues were fixed before the three-day extravaganza was complete, but there are still several things to iron out, with the open demo set to drop on February 1.

Robertson has attempted to allay worries over gameplay, stating that many of the issues were either set right over the past weekend or will be by the time the demo becomes available to the general public this Friday.

“As I shared on Saturday, it started rocky, but we stabilized that afternoon and maintained it until we turned servers off Sunday evening,” he wrote in an official blog post. “We learned a ton about our game, our service, and you, our community. We’re working hard to ensure everyone can enjoy the game exactly as we’ve designed it.

“We had an extended look at Anthem and passed along what we learned, including some insights about the end-game. There’s no teacher like experience, though, and the VIP test was the first chance many players had to try it out.

“Unfortunately, it was plagued by server issues, and the fixes that rolled out to mitigate them didn’t seem to solve the problem for everyone. BioWare has been communicating throughout, though, so its promise of more bug fixes to come over the weekend and then prior to launch should ease some worries.”

BioWare will be carrying out some more testing to prepare for the host of new players they expect to gravitate towards their servers from Friday and will make a fix for the loading problem a priority.

The public demo will run from February 1-3 and it is hoped that the experience is a much better one for gamers, with many likely planning to devote their entire weekend to the upcoming release.

BioWare has reported that there were almost 9 million hours of gameplay logged during the VIP segment. The number should rise significantly during the upcoming round, but they seemed pretty displeased over the 2 million harmless grabbits that were slaughtered.
