The Epic Games Store is all about war in the stars with this and next week’s free games. Today, Star Wars Battlefront II is up for grabs. And unlike some games that have gone free from the store, this one isn’t just the base version. Star Wars Battlefront II: Celebration Edition is free on the Epic Games Store, and includes a bevy of features and additional content. Next week, however, we go from boots on the ground to fights in the void with Galactic Civilizations III.

Battlefront II certainly had its ups and downs over the years. Following its loot box controversy, publisher EA still made sure it was well supported during its tumultuous phase. The Celebration Edition launched more than a year ago, with tie-ins to the divisive Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker movie. It includes six new playable heroes, including Rey, Finn, and Kylo Ren. Regular fighters and heroes receive new skins, voice lines, poses, and emotes. The package initially ran for $39.99 USD and included the base game. And today it allows you to run around as an emotionally-stunted dingus in a Halloween mask at no cost.

You can claim Battlefront II for free at its Epic Games Store page starting today, but only until January 21. Its page includes all the technical specs your heart desires. The game does demand a hefty amount of storage space, coming in at 60 GB, so make sure you have plenty cleared out before you download.

Star Wars to galaxy skirmishes

Next week’s free game is also all about space, but it’s not as hectic as Battlefront‘s energetic dust-ups. Galactic Civilizations III came out in 2015, offering a massive 4X strategy experience. The game includes multiple races to play as, technology to research, worlds to colonize, and battles to wage. Galactic Civilizations III on the Epic Games Store will include both its expansions — Crusade and Retribution — and add-ons, which means you’ll have a lot of game to play when it lands on January 21.
