The latest update has dropped for EA & DICE’s latest shooter, Battlefield 2042 as previously promised last month.

Update 3 includes hundreds of changes, fixes and balance tweaks as well as some quality of life enhancements. Some of the headline changes include Weekly Missions, with the first set to kick off next week. Enterprising soldiers who complete these will earn XP and cosmetics, should they finish all given missions within a week.

Elsewhere, the greatest hits Battlefield Portal mode will get new game mode layouts for Rush on All Out Warfare maps. Some new templates have been added to the builder alongside a new mode: Vehicle Team Deathmatch. There’s also a new logic option being added to the Rules Editor to check the source of fatal damage. Perfect for those looking to create some cool new custom modes.

This being said, it’s not been the smoothest launch for the patch so far. At the time of writing, players are reporting Unable to Load Persistence Data errors upon loading a server. DICE say it’s a connection issue on their side, and have told players to keep retrying while they investigate the issue. There’s also an issue on PC with horizontal mouse input you can read on how to fix here.

The update is live now for Battlefield 2042 on all formats and you can read the patch notes over here. DICE hopes to start revealing more content focused updates for the game in early 2022.
