PS4 players will receive five days early access to Battleborn’s open beta when it goes live early next month, 2K has confirmed.
The beta will begin on PS4 on Friday, April 8, before opening up to Xbox One and PC players on Wednesday, April 13. It’ll end on all platforms on April 18.
The open beta will provide access to a decent amount of content, too, including two story episodes – Void’s Edge and The Algorithm – two competitive multiplayer modes – Incursion and Meltdown – and all 25 playable characters, loot and gear. The full progression system will be thrown in, too, although it isn’t yet clear whether progress will be carried over to the final game.
As well as announcing a date, 2K also revealed that Battleborn’s Story Mode “will take a TV-style approach to its format”, with the story taking place across eight episode and a prologue. Each episode, 2K says, will tell “a self-contained story about your heroes’ fight to save the last star, Solus”.
Battleborn launches on PS4, Xbox One and PC on May 3.
