As Microsoft reveals its next generation console plans, news continues to trickle out for PC players. Alongside the big Game Pass and EA Play merger comes news of some new launch dates. Chief among which is Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, which now launches a week earlier than planned. The new Assassin’s Creed Valhalla release date is November 10, moving forward from its old November 17 date.
This change comes as Xbox has revealed a November 10 date for its pair of Xbox Series consoles. Ubisoft has clearly seen an opportunity to add a launch game to its line-up, favoring that over a week extra development time. The publisher now has a selection of games launching alongside the new Xbox’s, with some dropping earlier for PC.
One of those is Watch Dogs: Legion. The third Watch Dogs game has had its current gen and PC release date locked in for a while, and now its next gen version also drops on November 10. Legion launches October 29 for PC, and thankfully Ubisoft hasn’t opted to push this one back to match next gen. Just over a week to finish Watch Dogs: Legion? Sure.
Welcome to Valhalla
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is Ubisoft’s latest AC series entry. It comes after a year off following Odyssey, and takes players back to the Viking age. The setting is based across England and Scandinavia, a pair of drastically different landscapes. You’ll have the opportunity to take part in Viking raids and fierce battles, alongside calmer activities like building up a settlement and managing a Viking community.
The second Ubisoft Forward event takes place tomorrow, September 10. It’ll likely feature Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, alongside Watch Dogs: Legion and updates on games for the future. A Far Cry 6 gameplay reveal is a strong shout, and we might finally see Beyond Good & Evil 2 in action as it was announced over three years ago.
