Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is a massive game. Players can easily spend over 100 hours exploring every nook and cranny in a beautifully recreated Ancient Greece. The main story alone can take around 40 or more hours just to complete. Even after you’ve finished the main story of either Alexios or Kassandra, you’ve barely scratched the surface of what this game has to offer.

Since its release in October 2018, Ubisoft has continually shown support for the game. They have offered plenty of updates and free content for its players. There’s so much to do that it can be quite overwhelming. We’re here to let you know some specific things you should immediately after you finish Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

Updated by Madison Lennon on March 17, 2020: Seeing as we’ve still got a long time before the next Assassin’s Creed comes out, we thought now would be an opportune time to update this list of fun things to do in your Assassin’s Creed Odyssey game once you beat the main campaign.

The thing about Odyssey is, it’s a MASSIVE game. It seems like there is no shortage of things to do, especially with the DLC content available and the in-game contracts and notice boards being updated all the time. Random events and fetch quests spawn often, too. So be sure to revisit from time to time!

15 Find Different Skins For Phobos

Once you’ve completed almost everything in the game, you can always spend some time traveling around to the different Blacksmiths to try and find all the skins for your beloved horse companion, Phobos. Save up as many drachmae as you can and have a field day.

The Blacksmiths randomize their stock so it may take you a while to get the rarer skins, especially the cooler ones, but either way it’s fun to see what they have and make your horse look amazing in the process.

14 Finish Tracking Down The Cultists

Even though your main storyline might be finished, the Cult of Kosmos story will not be complete until you get rid of every single cultist, only then will you discover who is the cult leader.

It’ll be easier to go after the ones you didn’t catch while playing the main story once you’ve finished up since you’ll be much stronger. Plus, you should have most of your map cleared and open so you’ll be able to go after the few remaining stragglers left behind.

13 Explore The High-Level Islands

There are some islands in the game that you may not even see when you’re playing the main story because the levels are much higher than anywhere else. You’ll need to get a very confident level and strength in order to tackle these islands as the quests and enemies you’ll encounter there are much difficult than anywhere else in the game.

Some of these islands include Lesbos, Thasos, Chios, and Lemnos. Some of them have hidden tombs, challenges, quests, and more. You don’t want to miss out on anything so be sure to explore every nook and cranny of the map!

12 Romance Everyone You Can

Depending on how you decide to play the game and what sexuality you’re comfortable playing your character, you could spend a lot of time just going around the map ensuring that you’ve seduced every romantic conquest available to you.

This may happen naturally if you have done all the side quests but if you haven’t, some people like to focus on being a suave assassin wherever they can. Considering this is the first Assassin’s Creed game to have romance options, it’s hard to resist seeing everything the game has to offer.

11 Spend Time Exploring The Seas

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is truly a massive game, with plenty of things to see and explore. The graphics are also utterly breathtaking. If you haven’t spent a lot of time on the Adrestia beyond what was required of you, now would be a fantastic time to travel the seas and take on the challenges that come up on the Adrestia notice board.

If you enjoy sea warfare then you could have a lot of fun taking out pirate ships and collecting treasures while also getting upgrades for your ship.

10 10. Become The Ultimate Mercenary

Odyssey built upon the mercenary system from Origins. Instead of a set number of specific mercenaries, Odyssey has a plethora of randomly generated mercenaries, each with their own loot pools and stats. As you hunt one down, you unlock clues for the location of another.

You can spend your time working your way up the eight tiers. Once you’ve finally defeated every tier, you are now the Tier 1 Mercenary, which puts the rest beneath you. This can easily give you a couple of hours of playtime as you methodically hunt down each one. You will also get a very cool skin for your horse.

9 9. Do Side Quests

There are so many side quests in Odyssey to take on. Some may be better than others, but being able to complete these will give you a huge amount of hours to spend in the game.

There are side missions that sometimes give more context on past story missions, while others are great for the specific loot you can get. In addition to the countless side missions, Ubisoft has been continually releasing free side quests called The Lost Tales Of Greece. These new missions offer more insight into Odyssey’s most memorable side characters.

8 8. Hunt Down The Mythical Creatures

Hunting down some of the mythical creatures will unlock Odyssey’s “true ending.” The Gates Of Atlantis quest line is considered a main mission, even though it is not required to beat the game.

Still, you’ll want to do these quests in order to partake in some of the best boss battles the game has to offer. You’ve got Medusa, A Minotaur, and a Cyclops that you can fight. Each battle is more intense than the last. Not only does this unlock the game’s full ending, but you’ll also get some flashy loot to unlock.

7 7. Go For All The Trophies/Achievements

While Odyssey may be a giant game, it’s not too difficult to 100% the trophies/achievements. As long as you are willing to put the effort in, you can easily finish all of these challenges within Odyssey. You’ll most likely have a large percentage already completed by the time you reach the end of the game.

Just take one of them at a time, and you can have that accomplishment for bragging rights. The most tedious of all is the Child of Poseidon challenge, which requires you to complete all underwater locations. Hopefully, you’ve already been doing them as you progressed through the story.

6 6. Make The Perfect Build

Odyssey is exceptional at player-agency, as there are so many ways to spec your character. Whether you want to be a quiet assassin, a skilled archer, or an unstoppable warrior, the game has you covered. Now that you’ve beaten the game, go ahead and experiment with different builds.

Legendary Gear sets have their own set of perks that you can play around with. There are some stupidly overpowered builds that you can make, so go ahead and seek them out! Then jump into a Conquest battle to see how well they work.

5 5. Seek Out Ainigmata Ostrakas

The Ainigmata Ostrakas are essentially just mini treasure hunts that you can partake in Odyssey. The Ostrakas provide you with a riddle that will lead you to a location. From there you will need to find the exact spot. Origins had something very similar as well, except you would find a rare or legendary weapon.

In Odyssey, however, you will find engravings. Engravings in Odyssey are just as important as the gear itself. You’ll want to track down these Engravings to make your build as powerful as possible. Plus, everyone likes a good treasure hunt.

4 4. Conquer The Arena

After hours playing the story, you’ve probably gotten super confident in your abilities with Odyssey. Now it’s time to test out how skilled of a warrior you can be. Sail over to the southern island of Pephka and make your way to the arena.

The arena will provide you with waves of enemies, ending with a boss fight. What’s nice about this is you can take out a few mercenaries and a couple of cultists as you make your way up the fights. If you want 100% the game, the Arena should be your goal after you finish the game.

3 3. Start The DLCs

Odyssey does have a season pass that you can still purchase, which you can occasionally find on sale. The DLCs for Odyssey are two meaty expansions comprised of three episodes each. Legacy Of The First Blade is a nice gritty tale that explores aspects of the assassin lifestyle. It may not offer anything new, but it has a good storyline.

The Fate Of Atlantis is a huge expansion that lets you explore areas from Greek Mythology such as Elysium, The Underworld, and Atlantis. You’re able to get a nice amount of content from these DLCs, as long as you’re willing to spend a little extra cash.

2 2. Start New Game Plus

Luckily, New Game Plus is free. Added months after the game was released, Ubisoft put out a free update that allows players to start the whole game over with all of the gear they’ve acquired. Now keep in mind that this will completely reset all progress and missions.

Therefore, you may want to do everything else on this list before you start New Game Plus. All the mercenaries, cultists, and side activities will reset. You’ll want to make sure you are ready to start the game over, or else you’ll start off from square one. New Game Plus will offer more challenge, especially if you want to try it on the dreaded Nightmare difficulty.

1 1. Reach The Level Cap

Since this is an RPG, you’re free to keep leveling up well past the main story. After a few updates, Ubisoft finally stopped the level cap at level 99. All of the entries on this list are ways you can keep earning XP. You’re going to want to do these activities since reaching Level 99 will require an absurd amount of XP.

As long as you’re doing the remaining activities, and then start New Game Plus, you’ll have no issue getting to 99. Ubisoft also released Mastery Levels, which you can use your skill points to increase passive stats instead of abilities. If you couldn’t tell, the developers really loved to support this game well after release.
