Excitement is building for the sequel to dinosaur survival sim Ark: Survival Evolved – with Ark 2 set to debut later this year.
The game was revealed back at the 2020 Game Awards, and featured none other than Fast & Furious star Vin Diesel in the leading role.
Here’s what we know so far about the ARK 2 release date.
ARK 2 predicted release date
So far, the current official window given for ARK 2’s release is just 2023. This was the window set in the game’s most recent trailer – which came during the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase of 2022.
Similar to the first game, it’ll also go through an early access period – which is what this 2023 date refers to. As Xbox are helping to publish the game – it’ll be a Xbox Series exclusive on console, at least.
However, this partnership also means that it’ll be available on launch at no extra cost to Xbox Game Pass subscribers, which is a great bonus for those on the service.
As well as the voice and likeness of the actor who plays Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy, Ark 2 also promises a new epic story, cross platform modding between the PC and Xbox versions and a whole new alien environment to explore.
On top of that, the sequel promises “advanced character traversal mechanics” including mantling, parkour, swinging and mantling. It’s shaping up to be a much more advanced game than its predecessor.
Hopefully, we’ll get to hear more about the game soon – and when a more specific release date is announced for ARK 2, we’ll be sure to let you know.
