The wait is finally over for what is easily the most anticipated release from Arcade1Up. Gamers young and old alike can finally take home two of the greatest beat ‘em ups of all time and play them as they were meant to be played.

Both Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Arcade Game and Turtles in Time will be available for purchase Friday, October 18 and features the original arcade artwork and a four-player cabinet. While the cabinet is a special edition product from Arcade1Up, WalMart will be selling the TMNT machine for $349 and is sure to be a hot item for the holidays.

A staple of arcade legitimacy and a true callback to the simpler days of gaming, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was released at the height of the franchises popularity in the late 1980s and has garnered universal acclaim and adoration. While the original game was an easter egg in 2003’s forgettable Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Battle Nexus, that version did not feature the familiar sounds and memorable music of the original game.

Likewise, Turtles in Time was ported to the Super Nintendo as a two-player game with added levels and elements of both games were used in The Hyperstone Heist for the Sega Genesis. This is the first time a true arcade port of both games has been released, and the first four-player cabinet released by the retro company.

Arcade1Up will soon release another impressive cabinet, this one Marvel-themed which will include 2D fighters X-Men: Children of the Atom and Marvel Super Heroes along with beat ‘em up classic The Punisher. Where The Punisher is a forgotten gem of a bygone era, Children of the Atom and Marvel Super Heroes are important pieces of gaming history as it laid the groundwork for Capcom’s crossover series with the comic company.

With the company bringing the arcade experience home one cabinet at a time, is it too much to ask that we finally get The Simpsons next?
