Apex Legends Season 4 is being released on February 4 and there could be many updates including characters, weapons, and a new map. The new season is set to coincide with the first anniversary of the game’s release and there’s lots of speculation as to what changes will be made.
So far there’s been at least one new legend released with each new season, including Wattson in Season 2 and Crypto in Season 3. There have also been new weapons introduced every season with the L-STAR released in Season 2 followed by the Charge Rifle in Season 3. The King’s Canyon map stayed the same for the first two seasons with a few modifications in Season 2. Season 3 saw the introduction of the new World’s Edge Map.
According to Gfinity, there will be at least one new character to be added, with the possibility of another sometime later during the season. There have already been leaks of potential new characters with either Rosie, Revenant, and Forge expected to join the current roster. Of the three, Revenant has already made an appearance in the Shadowfall event for Season 3 Fight or Fright and seems the most likely to be making an appearance in the near future.
As far as a new map is concerned, the information is still under wraps with players speculating that the current World’s End map might be replaced as it isn’t as popular as the old King’s Canyon. Others suspect that the current map will continue with some tweaks. There is also the possibility of multiple maps being available to players, but we’ll just have to wait and see.
The recent update to the game saw the extended energy magazines removed from the game in anticipation of the new season. The change fueled rumors that the Volt SMG, another crossover from Titanfall 2, will be added to Season 4. It makes sense because there are currently no energy SMGs in the game. According to some leaks, there are also new hop-ups listed for Season 4 including the Catalytic Port, Incendiary chamber, and Sniper Ammo.
Time will tell which rumors are true and which aren’t. For now, players can enjoy the Gran Soiree event, which will be the last for Season 3. Despite the flurry of events to keep players happy, the World’s End map is getting a bit stale and could do with an overhaul or complete change. It would also be great if some of the weaker legends like Mirage get a much-needed buff to enhance their abilities.
