Titanfall developer Respawn Entertainment has lifted the veil on its latest project, a free-to-play battle royale game called Apex Legends. Chances are you won’t be too surprised, as the game leaked more than a busted water main prior to its reveal.
Apex Legends puts an emphasis on tactical squad play, with players customising their own ‘Legend,’ which house a range of unique abilities and strengths to master in battle. ‘Bold new innovations’ are also touted, so hopefully it’ll put a nice spin on the somewhat predictable battle royale genre.
The best bit is you won’t have to wait around to get your hands on the game: Apex Legends is out now for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One. It’s a spin-off title set in the Titanfall universe, and Respawn is planning four battle passes for the game throughout the year, launching in March, June, September, and December.
Apex Legends will feature microtransactions, naturally, and there’s a Founder’s Pack and Starter Pack available for £23.99 and £3.99, respectively. Check out the trailer below to get a feel for the action.
