Even with Season 4 bringing with it a range of new content, Apex Legends has more planned for the near future. Data miners inspecting the most recent patch for Apex Legends have discovered evidence of another event soon to come to the online multiplayer shooter. The event in question is February’s loveliest holiday, Valentine’s Day. The content discovered includes new charms, a badge, quips for all of Apex Legends’ characters, and a special Valentine’s Week Gift.
Perhaps the biggest reveals from the leak are two new Apex Legends weapon charms. These additions are fully finished and polished, so the data miners were able to take screenshots of them to share. One is a little Nessy, the dinosaur Easter egg from throughout Respawn’s past, adorned with heart-shaped sunglasses, a bow around its neck, and a rose in its mouth. The second is a Pathfinder Cupid charm, complete with wings and a little bow and arrow.
Beyond the two charms, over 20 different Valentine’s Day quips have been data-mined. The file doesn’t make clear which characters say which lines, but some are self-evident. For example, one reads, “Gibraltar still loves you,” and another reads, “Mirage a trois.” Others are less obvious, but can probably be assumed by fans familiar with the roster. “I didn’t say I mended broken hearts,” might be for everyone’s favorite healer like Lifeline, while, “A gift of joules,” likely refers to someone with an electricity-based ability.
There is one final data-mined Valentine’s Day item that might create some speculation. The data-mined Valentine’s Day files show that there will be a login reward for players who sign in during the week of the Valentine’s Day event and a Valentine’s Week gift, but its content isn’t revealed. Perhaps it will be the Valentine’s charms, or perhaps just the quips. It’ll be interesting to see how Respawn decides to share the Valentine’s Day love in Apex Legends.
While no Valentine’s Day skins were found in the data mine, players can likely expect a handful available in the Apex Legends shop for Valentine’s Day week. This seems very likely, as Respawn added several skins for last year’s Valentine’s Day, too. Respawn will hopefully balance the event with both free and premium content so that all Apex Legends players can participate in and enjoy what’s planned. Valentine’s Day is Friday, February 14, so expect an official announcement for the event soon.
Apex Legends is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
