A few days ago, the first round of open beta testing for Monster Hunter World’s upcoming DLC Iceborne, has ended. Luckily, players who were unable to check out the latest expansion will be given another opportunity now that Capcom just announced another date for players to test out the DLC ahead of launch.
The upcoming Iceborne beta for the PS4 will commence on August 30, at 12:01 AM PT and will run through September 1, at 11:59 PM PT. It will then be available on the Xbox One on September 2 at 12:01 AM PT, up until September 4, at 11:59 PM PT.
The second round of beta testing for Monster Hunter World: Iceborne will include the three monsters (Great Jargas, Banbaro, and Tigrex) that were available to hunt during the last two sessions. The upcoming beta will also introduce a new quest to hunt Velhkana for the first time. To the uninitiated, Velhkana is Iceborne’s flagship monster.
Players who will be able to complete quests in the beta will receive a special commendation pack when the full version of Iceborne is released. The pack includes a wide variety of consumables that will aid players as they explore the new arctic region of the expansion called Hoarfrost Reach.
Meanwhile, a trailer showcasing a battle with Velkhana was released a few days ago, giving players a preview of what a battle with this enormous dragon would be like. It would be wise for players to check out this trailer first before the second round of beta begins given that Velkhana will be available in the upcoming sessions.
Moreover, Capcom previously revealed that Monster Hunter World: Iceborne will feature a crossover with Horizon Zero Dawn’s Frozen Wild DLC, exclusively on the PS4. In a trailer released by Capcom, it was revealed that Horizon Zero Dawn’s Aloy, will be returning to Monster Hunter World.
Monster Hunter World is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The Iceborne expansion is set to release on September 6, 2019, for the PS4, and Xbox One, with a PC release to follow in 2020.
