Nintendo is giving away themed paper bags to over 20,000 lucky Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp players who subscribe to one of the two subscription services in the game (via My Nintendo News).

Last month, the publisher announced its plan to integrate new subscription services into Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. This is par for the course with Nintendo’s mobile ventures: Fire Emblem Heroes, Mario Kart Tour, and Pokémon Masters have included monetisation features that offer new content for players who choose to partake. As Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp’s profits pale in significance when compared to the publisher’s portfolio of mobile games, it only makes sense that this one would be getting some sort of subscription service soon.

The Happy Helper Plan is set at a price of $2.99 per month, and lets the player pick one of their campers to help out with the campsite’s odd jobs. The Cookie & Depot Plan gives the player five free fortune cookies each month and extra inventory space; this plan is a little more expensive at a charge of $7.99 per month. Also, the two plans include faster crafting times and access to the exclusive Pocket Camp Club Journal as a foundation. Now, Nintendo has offered players the chance to win an exclusive physical gift if they begin a new trial of one of the subscription services.

The Pocket Camp Club Original Bag is up for grabs. It’s the little bag that campers and villagers give to the player when trading items between themselves. Players must subscribe or start a free trial before December 19, 2019, and the giveaway only applies to Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, and the U.S. 10,000 Pocket Camp Club Original Bags will be given away in Canada and the U.S., and another 10,000 of them will be given away in Japan. That leaves Australia and New Zealand with the remaining 222 gifts, and they should be grateful for it! Because the entirety of Europe has been relegated from the sweepstake.

Honestly, I was expecting there to be something in the bag. Even some stickers would have been nice. But, it is an exclusive collectible, it is very cute, and players could cancel their subscription before they’re charged if they were only interested in the luck of the draw.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons comes out for the Nintendo Switch in 2020, and will get a photo mode for those awesome island parties with up to eight of your pals.
