Nintendo appears to have dropped Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ eagerly anticipated 2.0 update 24 hours earlier than scheduled.
The update was originally announced to be going live alongside the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Happy Home Paradise DLC. While the latter still remains behind a “coming soon” page, the additions to the main game are already available.
Nintendo revealed the contents of the update during a special Direct broadcast a couple of weeks ago. It’s absolutely chock full of new content for the two year old game, headed up by the return of series favourite Brewster. The owl and his coffee shop are serving drinks to you and your islanders, and is accessible from the museum.
Elsewhere, Kapp’n’s Boat Tours, where you’ll get to visit mysterious islands that allow you to obtain out-of-season objects. Harv’s Island has had a makeover too, with a new marketplace plaza. Many of the usually-time restricted merchants will then set up shop here. Katrina’s fortune shop is here too, and there’s some new hairstyles to collect in the Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0 update too.
There’s a group stretching class, new home exterior and expansion options, new cooking DIY recipes and more. Of course KK Slider has some new songs, and the update also sees the return of gyroids to the series. There’s a whole heap of stuff to discover, which you can see in the video below.
The Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0 update is available now for free exclusively on the Nintendo Switch. Make the most of this and tomorrow’s Happy Home Paradise DLC mind, as it seems they’ll be the final updates for the game.
