Ubisoft is giving away the Discovery Tours of Assassin’s Creed Origins and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey for free to help parents and teachers who have been impacted by the pandemic (via DualShockers). This offer lasts until May 21 as part of the developer’s Play Your Part, Play at Home campaign. “With millions of children experiencing upheaval to their studies right now, and teachers forced to adapt their lessons to digital tools, people are seeking new and enriching ways to learn,” explained Etienne Allonier, brand director for Assassin’s Creed....

Ubisoft has announced that the new Assassin’s Creed Valhalla update, 1.5.3, will include the Bifröst Bundle, along with various bug fixes. The new update isn’t exactly a stealthy one. It’s 8.4GB, and it addresses issues in the Dawn of Ragnarök expansion, along with numerous ones in the main game. The Bifrost Bundle, meanwhile grants you a new shield-and-axe combo. This from the official patch notes: “The Shimmering Shield and Iridescent Axe were chiseled from the same crystal used to build the Bifröst, Asgard’s rainbow bridge....

Pokémon discovered in the Sinnoh region are coming to Pokémon GO, as well as two new evolutions for Eevee- Leafeon and Glaceon. Since the update, which launched last week, trainers can now find Pokémon like Cherubi, Gible, Hippopotas and others in the wild, or from hatching eggs. In addition, special lure modules are now available to purchase from the Pokéshop, or as rewards for completing special research tasks which will drop later this month....

Today Atari announced the release on Steam of a significant group of classic flight simulators that will bring back memories aplenty for veterans of the genre. These include F-15 Strike Eagle and Solo Flight by acclaimed developer Sid Meier on top of Harrier Jump Jet, Dog Fight: 80 Years of Aerial Warfare, and The Ancient Art of War in the Skies. F-15 Strike Eagle and The Ancient Art of War in the Skies launch today, while the remaining three titles will release next week....

We haven’t heard much on Balan Wonderworld, the bizarre action platformer coming from the creators of Sonic the Hedgehog, since its announcement. Unveiled during the Xbox Games Showcase in July, the game is the result of two Sonic creators joining forces once again for a new project. Today, following Nintendo’s latest mini Direct, publisher Square Enix revealed Balan Wonderworld will launch for PC on March 26, 2021. It’s still going to be quite a while until we try the game for ourselves....

According to data from Ukie, Borderlands 3 effortlessly eclipsed Gears 5 in the UK retail charts this week (via MCV). Gearbox’s spacey and irreverent RPG overtook The Coalition’s pretty and powerful third-person shooter by quite a ways. The former outperformed the latter by more than four times — that’s including all platforms — and sold 77 per cent more units when comparing just the Xbox One alone. Saddeningly, Gears 5 didn’t hold a candle to the previous entry to the series....

Flinch has been a controversial mechanic in Call of Duty titles, because it causes aim to be thrown off track while taking damage. Effectively, it causes cross-hairs to move upwards when being hit by an enemy player. However, it appears that Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War flinch will differ from the past. BioWare’s Anthem has had its fair share of problems since it launched in February, and things don’t seem to be getting much better for the game this week. According to new reports, Anthem has lost a number of key team members recently (via Comic Book), including Mike Gamble and Mark Darrah, who served as lead producer and executive producer, respectively. In addition, Jonathan Warner, the game’s lead director, is currently on sabbatical....

One thing that Apex Legends has always excelled at is the quality of their skins, allowing players to customize their favorite characters and guns. Some of the most anticipated skins have been the Heirloom skins that up until now have only been available for Wraith and Bloodhound, but according to a dataminer there may be one more set prepared to make the list. When Apex Legends’s first Heirloom set released with a special knife skin for Wraith, along with a banner pose and intro quip, players clamored for the illusive item, some spending up to $500 for a chance at the extremely rare drops....

Respawn has put up general character profiles for all the legends in Apex Legends, but this seems to be the first time where they’ve put up something unique that really adds some flavor to a character....

Electronic Arts has announced that the first season of Apex Legends, titled Wild Frontier, will go live at 5.00pm UK today. The main attraction with Wild Frontier is a brand new Legend, named Octane. Described as an adrenaline junkie, Octane possesses mechanical legs having lost his real ones during a gauntlet speed-run. He’s able to trade health for speed thanks to his Adrenaline Junkie ability, while the Launch Pad Ultimate Ability lets his squad ‘fly through the air with the greatest of ease....
